Bio

I am currently a third-year Ph.D. student at College of Information and Computer Sciences, University of Massachusetts Amherst under the supervision of Prof. Jie Xiong. I received my B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from Northwest University, China, advised by Prof. Dingyi Fang and Prof. Xiaojiang Chen.

Research Interests

My research interests are in the area of wireless sensing, particularly fine-grained RFID sensing and wide-area LoRa sensing. My previous work, Tagtag, achieves accurate multi-target material sensing with cheap commodity RFID tags. My newer work, TagSMM, is a contact-free vibration sensing system which utilized the “bad” coupling effect among RFID tags to achieve sub-millimeter vibration sensing, 10 times more accurate than the current state-of-the-arts. I’m currently pursuing new promising and innovative work with LoRa sensing.
