September 2011 I recently completed an NSF EAPSI fellowship in Japan. I studied at Osaka Prefecture University under Professor Koichi Kise. and Professor Masakazu Iwamura.

August 2011 My work at Yahoo! Labs last summer was published in the Third Workshop on Large-scale Data Mining: Theory and Applications in conjunction with KDD 2011.

Andrew Kae

I am a fifth year graduate student in the Dept of Computer Science at UMass Amherst.

I work in the Computer Vision lab and my advisor is Professor Erik Learned-Miller.

My research interests include topics in Computer Vision and Machine Learning. In particular, I study nonparameteric models with applications to character recognition, face recognition and segmentation. My focus is on using machine learning tools to build practical, useful applications in Computer Vision.
